Benidorm Open 2007

Close race at the end

Patio Central

The City Hall of Benidorm together with Chess Club Benidorm organized the 20th edition of the tournament Benidorm Open. After more than 10 years of interruption the tournament came back with a strong field and a solid prize fund of 30 000 eur.

The tournament took place at the 4 star Hotel Deloix. It is a fantastic place, close to the beach. The atmosphere inside provides all necessary conditions for a strong tournament as this year’s one. A special thanks goes to the sponsors – CAM (Caja de Ahorros del Mediterraneo).

More than a hundred players participated in the event. You can find more information about them at our Benidorm preview. GM Chatalbashev and GM Khamrakulov have clinched last round victories to share the overall first place with 8.0/10.
