Three rounds have passed from the final Grand Slam competition - Bilbao Final Masters. According to the new pointing system applied at the competition Topalov is leading with 5 points, followed by Carlsen with 4, Anand, Ivanchuk, and Radjabov with 3, and Aronian with 2. Applying the old system, however, Carlsen, Anand, Ivanchuk, and Radjabov are all equal with 1,5 points.
Until now the new system and the short time control do not justify the desire of the organizers for fewer draws. Out of 9 games, there have been only 2 decisive results and 7 draws.
