GM Radosław Wojtaszek wins another tournament

Miguel Naidorf International Chess Festival was played on 18th-26th July in Warsaw, Poland. The Festival will consisted of four events: Grandmaster tournament, Open for players rated above 2000, Open for players U2000, and tournament for kids born 1999 and later.

GM Radosław Wojtaszek, who was one of Vishwanathan Anand’s second during the World Championship match, continues a string of successful results as he won another tournament in Warsaw. Earlier this year, Wojtaszek already claimed European Rapid Championship, Rilton Cup and shared first place in Poland Championship.

Chessdom’s good friend GM Eduardas Rozentalis finished second and undefeated, while current Polish champion GM Bartłomiej Macieja is third with 5.0 points. Top-seeded GM Krishnan Sasikiran from India met some strong resistance and could not achieve better than 50% score.

2. GM Eduardas Rozentalis (LTU 2588) – 5.5

3. GM Bartłomiej Macieja (POL 2612) – 5.0

4-6. GM Krishnan Sasikiran (IND 2669), GM Aleksej Aleksandrov (BLR 2616) and GM Michał Krasenkow (POL 2631) – 4.5

7-8. GM Michał Olszewski (POL 2559) and GM Bartosz Soćko (POL 2656) – 4.0

9-10. GM Tomi Nybäck (FIN 2627) and IM Nidżat Azad Abasow (AZE 2505) – 3.5
