World youth chess 2009

The World Youth Championship took place in Kemer, Antalya, 11-23 November, 2009. It was an 11 rounds Swiss system with rate of play 90 minutes for the first 40 moves followed by 30 minutes for the rest of the game with an addition of 30 seconds per move starting from move one.

The championship has collected close to 1500 participants this year. The count states that players come from 88 countries all over the world and with the accompanying personnel, parents, coaches, staff etc. this number reaches 2380 people.
