Lublin International Grandmasters Tournament

Three players leading after round seven

The 2nd International Grandmasters’ Tournament the Lublin Union Memorial is being held from 9th to 18th May in Lublin, Poland. Ten Grandmasters compete in a round-robin tournament.

Three players are sharing the lead with 4.5 points each after seven rounds of closely contested games. Last year winner Boris Grachev, Poland’s reigning chess champion Mateusz Bartel, and Bartosz Socko are on the top, but only half a point ahead of the chasing pack. The top rated participant Igor Kurnosov (2680) is facing difficulties and is currently second to last, only half a point ahead of the talented but inexperienced Dariusz Swiercz.
