The second edition of Obert Internacional de les Illes Medes took place on 28th December 2007 till 4th January 2008. Local hero GM Lopez Martinez Josep Manuel finished clear first at the main Group A event, half point ahead of the competition. Last year winner GM Mateusz Bartel and second seeded GM Viktor Moskalenko ended on 5-9th place tie.
