2008 Reykjavik Open – Round 6

3-12 March in Reykjavik, Iceland

Six rounds of the 23rd Reykjavik Open have been played and there are currently four Grandmasters on the first place tie. Fabiano Caruana and Iceland’s top active player Hannes Stefansson are joined by the Chinese duo Wang Hao-Wang Yue. Yue has recovered from the shocking defeat in the first round and won all five games since.

Young players are in significant numbers among 90 participants, some of the most notable are IM Tania Sachdev of India, FM Illya Nyzhnyk of Ukraine and IM Jon Ludvig Hammer from Norway. However, American FM Ray Robson is performing best at the moment, having collected 4.0 points with a current plus of 24 FIDE points.
