The current leader, GM Ahmed Adly, won against GM Laznicka and consolidated his first position with 7,0/8 points. With a strong king side attack GM Adly finished with the resistance of his opponent in only 28 moves. Adly is a clear point ahead of the chasing pack - GM Wang Hao, GM Popov, GM Mayers, and GM Grigoryan with 6.0/8. GM Wang Hao won against IM Wesley So. GM Popov clinched the victory against the NH Chess Tournament participant, GM Stellwagen. The only victory with black was for GM Grigoryan against GM Jones.

In the girls section the current leader WIM Vera Nebolshina got an important draw against WGM Mongontuul. She continues without a lost game and is top of the table. However, IM Harika reduced the distance with the Russian tallent as she won against the Spanish hope WGM Vega Gutierrez.
